2 pointsThere were no E30 M3s built in the factory as RHD, there are two mythical RHD E30s that supposedly went to Japan as "evaluation" units, these were actually converted off the line at BMW M headquarters in Garching. Some also try and claim one of the JPS M3s in Aussie was a factory RHD, but it was a kit of bits supplied from the factory that converted one of their 325i chassis over to M3 specification from what I understand. That said, the NZ New E30 M3s had to be converted over to RHD in order to be used on the road, which was done by an outfit called Road & Track in Rotorua I believe. The conversion used 325i parts (rack, dash, etc) and local fabrications (modified headers, etc.). Very similar to the conversions that were offered in the UK, by I think it was Birds (as they were called then - they did Hartge, Alpina, etc). Plus there are a few "tourist delivery" vehicles which were driven by the owners in Europe before shipping to NZ, at whcih point they had to be converted over to RHD (not sure of exact numbers of M3s but was very small) but were still recorded as "NZ New" for some strange reason. So there might be a car that ticks all the boxes out there somewhere...

2 pointsHey mate, i think we all were a bit confused about the 5k price tag. No not an auction, was on FB market place, so anything goes i guess. Was my first time buying anything from market place lol. When the guy finally contacted me, he said someone had put in a offer of 6500, so i put in a 7k bid and asked if i got out bidded to contact me. He never did, and the next minute i seen the car was sold, couldnt believe it to be honest, was gutted. But god loves a tryer, and no not religious lol. So sent him a couple of messages more, saying thanks for considering my bid, was happy to go to 10k plus and could pay cash that day, said i hope it went to a bmw enthusiast. Next minute i am getting a phone call from the guy saying the first deal fell through at 7500, guy who turned up was put off by the paint. Went had a look, and knowing he was just about to let it go for 7500, we talked and settled at 8500. It was a bit of a weird dealing, we just couldnt believe our luck, i said to my partner while we still had an active bid in, if its meant to be, it will be. And what do you know, we are the very happy owners of a 540IS with M Pack in hellrot red. Re spray is on the cards very soon.

2 pointsall good. since your touring has the side mouldings in black, it would make sense to try find a Mtech2 for sedan/touring (2nd pic) to match the rest of the car. the other 2 bumpers would probably look a bit weird and obvious that its added on rather than looking "factory"

2 pointsThe gods were on my side for once, and finally picked up one of the 96's hellrot red 540IS on the weekend (not the unicorn, but I aint complaining). Great to find out it came with the M PACK! Car just needs a re spray, which will be done over the next month or two. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the feeling of owning a E34 540IS, something to treasure for a life time.

1 pointWas it the E90 sedan m3 in blue down in chch for $33k or something? I was thinking its great buying at that price in current market!
-
1 pointThe 2 Bentley manuals I want $50 for. I put up the Merc ones because some members have Mercs. The Haynes manuals are $25 each. Everything is plus freight. Both Bently manuals and the E36 Haynes are now sold
-
1 pointYeah would be nice to go to a better colour like technoviolet, but changing a cars listed colour from factory is a bit iffy so keeping it correct seems like the better way to go.

1 pointThe warning is very useful, I wouldβve taken the bike in the shower to save water and all

1 pointNo, one kit will do both sides. OEM bushes are likely sold each, but even they shouldnt cost that much.

1 pointI used to house sit in St Mary's Bay beside this 15 years ago, great to see it's still around.
-
1 pointI saw that earlier. Looks very nice. I had something that looked kinda similar, about 30 years ago! In the UK, so it had some quite extensive Hydrated Iron (III) Oxide patina. It was 'that' colour beige, which hid rust quite well.

1 pointCool so when FENZ turns up to scrape up after a crash they can now use the same spatula to take care of the vehicle remnants too. Self recycling cars, what an era we live in.
-
1 pointWas slightly confused by the $5000 advertised price and the fact that it went for over $8000. Was it an Auction? Or just Facebook where anything goes? Still a great deal if you can tidy it up.
-
1 pointSo you got it, what a deal it was !!! I was trying to buy this as well. Glad someone in the community got it in the end - make sure you keep us updated

1 pointThere are a lot of different E46 front bumpers, but for simplicity sake, there are 3 "main" msport ones. M Tech 1 which come on the PFL sedans M Tech 2 for FL sedans (almost same as the below one but has the black moulding) and M Tech 2 for coupes (both PFL and FL) no black moulding but has a indent line across it

1 pointOoooh. Hard decision though. E30 or save $10k and have something that is actually rare. Better looking and a V12.
-
1 pointWell I got permission and a deal was made with Alex. Should be a great runner for me.
