People that spit on the footpath for no apparent reason. This doesn't include sports players etc that have a sh*t load of spit. But people that insist on walking down the street and spit like the filthy animals that they are. There seems to be a demographic for them but let's not go there.

In keeping with the M3 theme swapped wheels for 4 x M3 19`s fronts. Rears need the guards pumped.

f**k that.... been there and done that. She went from a Mercedes to the Suzuki & Loves it. 180,000km and no oil & water leaks. Just 2 batteries, 8 tyres an O2 sensor and normal servicing in 10 years

Its not at all the same thing. Like saying a BMW 5 Series is essentially a Holden Commodore. The Golf GTI is a fine car, nice to drive etc. I think they are the consummate all rounder.

Only thing worse is the Ssangyong Ute racing series. My eyes and ears bleed everytime I accidently come across them on the TV.

I have not found the women to be boring TBH... well after they have had a couple of Pinot Gris that is. I have no love for the Swift, drives like a 90's Japanese car, even had 90's Japanese Plastic interior. Still annoyed with my body, hips have arthritis and back has three torn and bulging disks... on the upside, Tremidol and Pinot Gris seems to be a good combination until the next morning when the pain kick back in.. Physiotherapist told me to stop doing things with women and then gives me a bunch of exercises that look like things I would be doing with women.. 10 sets for 10 seconds he reckons. haha

Buy a set of e30 Lemforder ball joints and get them pressed into your suspension arms. They are a far better design than the e36 ones as they do not have the rubber dampening bit that collapses as yours have and allow play in the suspension. P/N is LEM-1051903. While you are about it, replace the 'lollipop' bushes with the offset e30 M3 ones, P/N LEM-1056001. These make a decent change to steering responsiveness. While you have the arms off, check the inner ball joints and replace them if they show any wear. part number LEM-1051802. Replace the front ARB drop links with the rear drop links from a 2000-2007 Ford Mondeo Estate. These units are rose-jointed, giving a firmer, stronger hold over your anti-roll bar. Much better than the BMW ones. They are available from Lemforder, part number is LMI 2581102.

The plans for a car for Miss M continue to be developed. Her latest idea? A Porsche 924. Handles well and in 2.0 guise, doesn't have too much power for a new driver. She's planning ahead, y'see - in 30 years time she wants to be able to say she learned to drive in a Porsche, and never drove anything else.

Thats a good idea, one of my best mates old man owns an engraving shop in Petone, i should see what he can do! hahaha i can see how you would read that! nah mate, i go to Macauleys about 3-4 times a week for the last 4 years so i asked them if i could put the car on the scales for intrest sake they only too happy for me to. About what i expected i guess. The touring will be the interesting one.

I think this was just a case of the owner leaving it as is. Not so much "abandoned" Internet stories are good fun though.

Another 800km+ roadtrip. Balmy in Turangi. Need to do the rear end bushings. The rear end feels a bit vague when it loads up in a hard corner. Deliberating on solid/poly/OEM options. Also got it put on a classic insurance policy. Cut my premium by 1/3rd with better cover. Stoked!

Best looking car ever made imo. Definitely hold out for an m30 manual. The 2.7 auto I had wasn't unbearable but got boring pretty quick.

It's almost a car you want to be sat in the back of, rather than driving.. There is a lot of cool new tech in these, the new "gesture control" looks interesting, as I often use "gestures" when driving...

So I bought this 330ci cheap and all in all its pretty good but it did some weird things. The mirrors would flip up into their parking setting whenever the car was turned off for more than an hour, the climate control would go berserk, hot then cold and mirrors would point in all directions when they felt like it. I did a battery test and lo and behold only 11.8 volts. (See this video if you're unfamiliar) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AajTPsJyPI Batteries are expensive $285 via Repco and even more from Marshall. In the end I got one directly from Century batteries for $175. All issues fixed.

Some of you may have seen this already. But for those that haven't. In 1988 the dealer operating under the name "Citation Motors" lost it's franchise and abandoned the building and stock. Still in the showroom was an E24 and a 635csi in near perfect condition. At the back of the dealership is an untouched yard with more stock frozen in time including a mint black 635csi.

Suspension's finally complete. All new front and rear. Sport shocks, csi bump stops and rear reinforcement plates and Eibach springs. What a difference! The old girl feels like new, so much grip in the corners. She's pretty low so the ride's a bit harsher than the floaty EDC but not much different to the mtech II suspension in my old E39 540i. She earned herself some new rubber on the fronts too. Resulting issues... Not sure I'll be able to navigate my steep drive if I fit my csi front spoiler... Too much low!! And on the odd hard bump thanks to our crappy roads, I get a bong like a check engine. Happened prior to overhaul too. No light so possibly just a loose electrical connection. Any ideas?

You need to get this sorted very quickly before it auto locks on you. Once the new door lock barrel is fitted the control unit in the door will be in neutral and the remote & alarm should then work. The door lock barrel only connects with the control unit electrics in the door which then operates the lock.

You learn pretty quick on a bike, look where you want to go. Half way through a overcooked corner and if you're looking at the side of the road thinking you're running out of room and not looking through the corner you'll be skidding along on your ass. Sent from my SM-G360G using Tapatalk

I was running a one way valve from an m50 when I fitted to my m52. Idea is it keeps the brake booster under vacuum when car is off. Mash the pedal a few times and you lose the pressure anyway

Buy NZ new with FSH and you should be OK with the manual. Most a Jap imports. VASK is worth checking out, you will learn they are much like BMW's in the way you get what you pay for and preventive maintenance is the defence between a good car and a bad car. My only experience with one was as a traded in "courtesy car" from the Renault Dealership and it was not a nice car, the DSG kept going into limp mode and it was literally falling apart, this was a NZ new car with under 100,000km on it. was slow and dumb after what I am used too but would be an O.K daily driver. On that note, the RS Megane is way better to drive, but a little stiff for a daily use for some, and you may get hooked on how well they drive like I did and go crazy and turn into a road warrior with a warped sense of social perception..

Hey John, When I built my E30 series car I went to a local radiator shop. http://www.pakurangaradiators.co.nz/ I matched the current one up with one they could get from a supplier. Was the exact same radiator but was all metal. No BS plastic. I never had any heating issues in my series car in the 3 years I ran it. And last time I drove it under the new owner it still had the same one. A number of other drivers picked these up also. Make sure you get replacement hoses too.

I had to re-read this a couple of times as at the first read I thought you were taking the car to get scrapped! Thankfully not.

Retro grade good idea? Me thinks yes. If you enjoyed it in the US then i`m sure you'll enjoy it here. Older cars have a charm the newer ones lack. As for parts, the M20 was used in E30s and some E34s. My E30 has an M20 and I have no trouble at all buying parts, usually from the USA. I have the earlier model M20 too. M30 is the `bigger brother` and while I have no experience with them, parts should be just as easy to source. Good luck!

Update: Headlights Got myself some new indicators - will look at the headlights as a whole later (need more coin) Tail lights Going with Kyu's advice and getting those taillights and black them out with VHT Nightshade tint on tint film. Trim + Gearknob Sourced some good carbon fibre dash trim from a guy in Porirua, for $70. Going to go with Zero's recommendation on spray my own centre console and gear knob. Knowing me gear knob will end up with some eccentric graphic design on it haha Side indicators Got some smoked ones of these too: Wheels Got some 18" genuine wheels. He doesn't know yet but sending them to EUROHO's shop to get the curbing fixed (thanks man ) then going to get them painted matte black.

Last time I saw someone drive on the wrong side of the road was in Lindis Pass. I'd just flown down to Invercargille to pick up my new to me motorcycle. A MINT 12,000km 1989 Yamaha FZR Supersport. It was my second day on the bike and some jackass came around a corner on the wrong side of the road. I had 2 weeks leave booked to ride the bike around the South Island. One week of that was spent in Christchurch Hospital. The bike was a write off. That was about 5 years ago and while the insurance payed for it and ultimately I got another bike I'd still have to say that if the person who hit me was put in front of me I'd punch him in the face for his error in judgement while driving. Then I'd knee cap him for not stopping. I lay on the side of the road for 5 mins before another car came along. Still a bit of anger there...lol I know people rag on AA but in this case they worked well with me. When it became apperant that they couldn't get a new fairing for the bike they asked if I would be happy with a scratched secondhand one. When I said no they paid me out the next day.

No you don't .... I can wind the speedos back and change all the info needed with the eproms onboard (even the Motorola chips). You just need the right tools and know how. I've actually been tempted to do a write up on it - not to teach people on how to clock their cars, but more to what to look out for if it has been clocked
