BMW newbie, looking to buy - Any advice wanted

white one looks cheap considering the kms but the japanese looking aftermarket headunit is a bit meh for me blue one looks quite nice but a bit expensive at 11k silver one pretty good for 9k with 4 new michelin tyres, yes aftermarket headunit but looks like a decent one thats done in NZ dark grey one also not bad looking, lightly more expensive and higher kms than the silver one and more expensive. I think with these models, there are plenty to choose from so just find one you like the colour/option of and go ahead if its in good condition. There is a 2011 black face lift one for sale for 9k but its done high kms around 160k, pretty nice being facelift if you dont mind the kms. been for sale forever maybe could negotiate down to 8k and have 1-2k for servicing/maintenance. -

you have to really try the DCT because some people might find it very clunky especially at low speeds. It is definitely more fun when you're driving it compared to an auto but its not (usually) as smooth when just potting about in town/traffic. I would go for the LCI whenver possible. Blackline taillights are awesome upgrades from a visual perspective on these cars. But I do think its a bit crazy to spend $25k on one of these when the F20 is just so much more for the same $. The N55 & ZF8 is a dream in the F20.

I would just go for the best low kms example you can find/afford and hopefully its previously owned by a sensible person. Wouldnt personally bother with dealer warranty and just put that $2-3k for my own maintenance. I dont think you should discount the N54 if its a nice example but definitely drive both N54 auto and N55 auto/dct and see how you feel. I personally am biased towards the N55 engine being "better", especially if you are not looking to modify it like most 135 owners.

can u actually get the coolant from FCP? I think you better get the parts separate without the coolant and get that locally. not sure if they can ship liquid stuff.

The ebay ones are probably same like one of these https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20210917201009&SearchText=11517586925+ Alternatively you could spend a bit more for Pierburg & Mahle from FCP euro https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-engine-water-pump-11517586925a https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-thermostat-11537549476-1

PS4S tend to run wider at the same tyre size as other manufacturers. Either size down to something like 215/45/17 & 235/40/17 or try a different brand.

128ti for me. Its faster off the line. but a bit exp at $70k vs $80k for a M135i.

All I can say is good on you for doing what's right but also be careful because goods, things etc can be replaced but your (and other's) safety is also important. It is a real shame that there is no solid way to report these things and bring to the attention of the police.

small display the only con but not a biggie considering all the other options. looks very nice!
