7 pointsResurrecting this Stirling silver Kiwi new `90 M325i. Came to me with mainly superficial damage. New frontal tech 2 parts and respray will get it looking like new again. AC Schnitzer 16`s, AC steering wheel and AC exhaust will give it the AC theme.

2 pointsNot sure what he thinks is JDM about it either, maybe its a jap import, but you cant tell by looking at it! Wheres the sticker bomb and the huge bozo exhaust or the hideous clear taillights with water in them?
-
2 pointsLooks better than most stanced cars though. Wheels not poking out the guards or rediculous amounts of camber.

1 pointHowdy, This is a reasonably helpful read if you are thinking about buying an E39 M5.......especially if you are entertaining the idea of importing one from the UK under SIV rules. Cheers Glenn http://www.pistonheads.com/features/ph-buying-guides/bmw-m5-e39--ph-buying-guide/31567

1 pointBRILLIANT! Admittedly more sedate than the boggo Z8, and more befitting of the body style.

1 pointJust bought a tidy manual 318i off my mates mum. Its a wee beauty. just enough poke for a laugh. small and light enough with the unbeatable combo of manual gearbox, rear wheel drive and 2 doors. boom. she had the infamous cam issue a 20000 or so km ago and had the cam an followers replaced so pretty happy there. I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to the oil feed rail or whatever is the root cause to try and stop it happening again. I did the cam belt the other day to get that demon out of the way .If it dies oneday i guess ill put an m42 or something in it (not sure how hard that is) . I took it for a spirited drive up the port hills the other night and it was great fun but the handling could do with a bit more tautness. does anyone local have the thicker front and a rear sway bar from one of the 325i models? is that a good handling mod? what aother sympathetic handling mods are best to start with? i possibly could look at the bushes etc too. Any way I'm lovin it, rust free and very straight and seems to be plenty of life left in her.

1 pointI have written software which can test for failed Vanos or not. I can even measure the actual variance and ms delay in pump pressure. I should probably finish it off for public consumption at some point.

1 pointHi guys Mark here and I bought an E36 M3 off KwS on this forum a couple of weeks ago. I live in central Auckland, wondering who else has one around auckland? Welcome any tips and advice!
-
1 pointFinished my manual conversion, put the E30 back on the ground and enjoyed a 5th cog. then proceeded to valet it.. what a difference. Progress post to come in project thread later in the week

1 pointIt's not too complicated to do it yourself but avoid the solder-free ribbons that rely on pressure alone for the connection. Use a T bar solder iron and a proper LCD ribbon. Or, take it to someone that specialises in this stuff. Robinson Instruments in Auckland are excellent and would charge around $200 for the replacement. I also had the LCD replaced in my 850 MID by a guy in Christchurch. Not sure if he does clusters but might be worth asking... PM if you want his contact.

1 pointBut really, what is the point in increasing the limit a measely 10kmh for a distance of less than 100km. Apart from causing confusion with varying limits within one stretch of road (maybe the govt coffers haven't thought of this...), it's not going to achieve anything apart from burning more fuel and giving a few city slickers who venture on the open road twice a year a good feeling for driving 'fast'. Heavy vehicles and towing vehicles still limited to 90kmh. Retarded drivers will still hog the right hand lane traveling the same speed as the car next to them. Retarded drivers will still merge onto the motorway/expressway at 60-80kmh. Retarded drivers in the lane being merged will switch lanes to their right and fail to increase speed, so now all lanes are down to whatever speed the muppet has merged at. So there goes any argument for it improving traffic flow. Of course it may be a different story off peak/at night, but maybe the revenue raisers could use some discretion, or maybe tackle real criminals. When you have 1000-1500km to travel in one day like people in Aus face then fair enough. In NZ, you're going to get held up by SH1 town crossings/traffic lights, tourists doing 80kmh, road works. It may just be easier to travel at night or leave one hour earlier. Failing that, just jump on two wheels.

1 pointThrew a guard on to make me feel all warm and fuzzie!!! Thanks to Jonesey for helping me sort freight of these parts. Bit of a side note, the boot deck is a prodrive item, so kinda cool to have something from those guys on the car.

1 pointI'll wave to you as I pass you in my SMG changing gears with one hand and just *that* much faster

1 pointI think that might be possible for Andy, but while I have a baby face I still pre-date the E21, let alone the E30 cab.
-
1 pointI can't help but think it's more proof of how cars are past their innovative stage seen in the 70s-90s and now they are just fiddling around with mere details that don't really matter.
