6 pointsWe still have the car, enjoying it at the same time doing some maintenance on it. Cleaning sunroof drains, minor bits and bobs... my first oil change on the car. No more mechanical insurance, so I am free to do what I want on it. 2nd oil change since new bearings, I will do a 3rd one after 2k kms again. It's not as straight forward as the Skyline, that I can do pretty much in a jiffy. It's been a great cruiser for us, hope it runs well for the next few years. Another big item is the actuators where I already bought the upgraded gears, shafts and mosfets.

4 pointsAt Caffeine and a classics this morning. Monster turn out but not enough BMWs. Not sure if this is a members car? Average photo but car was stunning, top condition, leather stitched dash etc - absolute beauty got me day dreaming about an E24...
-
3 pointsYup, very under-wheeled for that kit and that much low. Would look a lot better on 16s or 17s. Scarcity is not the only factor, some cars were produced in low numbers for a reason, lack of demand, or too expensive, etc. Whist the Baur may have better dynamics, a drop top is more of a cruiser than a sports car. For me, the roof design on the Baur was always an after-thought (and personally I’m not a fan of a targa top) whilst the BMW vert has much cleaner lines, especially with the roof down. It is also quite market dependent, UK has much more demand (and availability) for the vert, whereas NZ is a much, much smaller drop top market.

3 pointsI am the owner of this M3. I have updated the trademe listing with details. Yes, it is a Singapore car but I would have thought any issues associated with this would have manifested and been resolved in the last 13 years? It was Phoneix yellow but has been resprayed (not wrapped) in Santorini Blue. Was SMG but has been converted to manual. Further details in advert.

2 pointsI saw this at Caffeine and Classics today, good looking car. lots of positives to it but I would have been budgeting a full respray for sure...
-
2 pointsbtw, ill freely admit the convertible version is not the drivers E30. its a lot heavier, and flexes a lot more too. as Jon says, it is a cruiser

1 pointHaha being from Singapore myself this is true, we did a number of roadies through Malaysia each year growing up.
-
1 pointSo true, that's what they do! Lived there for 6 years- there are very few opportunities to enjoy high powered cars in Singapore (yet it has a ridiculous amount of people who own luxury cars). So they go over the border to Malaysia where they enjoy beautiful highways which lend themselves to high speeds. So lots of Singaporeans head out around midnight on the weekends to enjoy high speed driving in Malaysia (where they apparently try bribing the cops). The only other risk ? Car-jacking! Singaporeans with luxury cars get targeted!

1 pointYeah it is the same car, re registered.... Have pics if anyone's interested, might make a good track hack.
-
1 pointIf thats the same one that was up for sale last year, it was a basket case and not worth anywhere near that unfortunately. The DMF was dead, throw out bearing sounded like a gas turbine, rear arch lips butchered and evidence of rear end respray (and bird shitted on 4 pot muffler to get a wof after someone lopped the stock muffler off)
-
1 pointThat rear spoiler is an abomination. And 19's and a 130 are not a happy marriage made.

-
1 pointOh yeah definitely. The seller was going to give out some extra goodies to whoever took the car and one of them was 4 or 5L of the correct paint colour to respray it with.

1 pointI hear that some Singaporeans actually drive their cars to Malaysia! I don't believe it myself...

1 pointOf the MT2 kit on that vert, I thought it looks dreadful on that particular car (in the photos provided). Visually heavy, and is it on 14's? Certainly it's only 14J6.5 vs 15J7; if in doubt ask your GF about the difference that half inch makes 😎 Probably needs 16x8s? Paint appears very good in the potatocam images. pics nabbed from the ad, for ref: (PS - very low kms though!)

1 pointExcuse me! It's a Bosch! A german one! I stopped buying F&P years ago, when it took them 18 months to replace my stove, and the brand new one was faulty too - Never buy F&P crap again 😉 I just built brand new front struts for the R32ran in the dining room this week though. She didn't even roll her eyes 😁

1 point@Allanw would never be so crude as to use the Fisher and Paykel parts washer in the kitchen for dishes...
-
1 pointThere’s not the same level of demand for the cabrio versus the coupes, especially the M-Tech versions, unfortunately so that normally sees a comparable vert priced lower than a coupe. That said Andy’s is very tidy, and I would say around $30k value, so insure for $35k.
-
1 pointYou're right with everything there @Olaf. The Bentley is definitely something to consider in years to come but for now I've made the decision to find the right S85. An uncle of mine once said "you have to own a V12 at least once in your life" and I did that with the 750iL so now I need to do it with the V10. I'm leaning towards the M5 over an M6 mainly because they are more practical. There will still be occasions in the next couple of years to have people in the back and I wouldn't want to leave an M6 in the garage just because I have passengers. I also prefer the styling, I've always loved the E60 from the outside but the E63 would take some getting used to.

1 pointWith the f10 m5 budget for oil as they can use a bit or pick up a warranty to help ease the burden. Have you considered a X5M?

0 pointsThere has been a shitload of this crap going on recently. Apparently it has something to do with a tiktok trend and kids thinking its easy and fun to steal cars. Oh, and the other trend is for them to damage the car if they fail to steal it. Cut and smash everything they can. f**king miscreants.
-
0 pointsBut it has an immobiliser.. at least know what you’re trying to steal aye.. anyway, has been picked up by towtruck now. Fully rained on from today’s crazy weather. such a shame.. hard to find a good tidy TI these days and thought this one was gonna be a good keeper.
-
0 pointsAbsolutely nothing inside the car except some napkins and my dog’s leash lol. they didn’t take anything just tried to steal the car. The drivers side door keyhole is damaged, passenger window smashed, and ignition barrel completely destroyed in an attempt to steal the car (and failed) lots of glass everywhere and for some reason the sunroof is half open. Actually they left me a small gift - a small tin of eclipse mints (strawberry) so will take into police station for forensics. have insurance and they will tow it away for assessment. such a shame because we finally got it running nicely and it was the perfect cheap runabout.

0 pointsSpotted our e36 compact ravaged by the scums of the earth. Right after we finished putting in brand new headliner and all the maintenance work.. thanks! Only insured for 2k less 500 excess so big time out of pocket if we get paid out or might be repaired..?
