Half toying with trading it in, but the trade in offer I got from the place that had the car I wanted was terrible. Two other dealers actually offered competitive valuations but they don't have what I wanted any longer. This is a NZ new, full spec 550hp "M" car.. Similar engine to the M5 and M6. 2010 model, about 147k on the clock. This vehicle is in excellent condition with loads of important service items recently undertaken. Way back when from new it was specced up and given to Brendan McCullum. Personalised plate (X5 ///M) is provided. Lots of features : Panoramic sunroof Selectable M mode (in addition to Sport mode), giving more power/response, stiffer suspension, stiff steering, opens up the quad tip exhausts etc Heads up display Reversing camera and parking assist Keyless entry Push button start Built in hard drive for the stereo as well as Bluetooth for phone Latest BMW NZ 2020 Sat Nav maps Heated, memory seats. Fully adjustable, they 'hug' you while driving. Auto lights (inc. auto dip) and wipers Rubber bootliner As well as all the normal stuff you would expect like tow bar (removable, with key), black leather interior, air conditioning, cruise control, etc Engine has had the problem parts replaced with revised genuine BMW parts to ensure the same failure does not reoccur prematurely. Full overhaul including: Timing chain and tensioners Oil pump chain Valve stem seals 4 cam sensors 4 VANOS solenoids Water pump Thermostat Associated gaskets and seals Spark plugs Auxiliary water pump and reservoir I've also put 4 new Nexan Performance tires on it, and full alignment; the only really expensive regular service item checked off for the new owner for quote a while! Full Build sheet attached. Wants for nothing, get in and drive. Offers around $30k? BMW E70 X5 M 2010 Silverstone 2 metallic (A29) Leather _Merino__schwarz (LKSW) - WBSGY02060LH67396.pdf

A bit different now with the current market situation. If you are a prospective buyer, their typical answer to "what's your opinion on true market value?" is "the cv is $xxx so somewhere around there". When you press them further and ask for comparative sales they give you random figures for non-comparable houses that are greatly different in room #, sqm size, condition so it doesnt help anyway. I reckon they are basically trying to lure you in with a falsely low representation of what its worth in the hopes that you will go to the auction (make a crowd) and make you fomo bid to reach a higher price or to scare other bidders with higher budgets to push further so they dont miss out. Or they just literally have no idea because market value is just a wild guessing game now. There is no reason for them to indicate any $ amount figure because it could end up literally anywhere. If you are a prospective seller, their typical answer is to overstate the possibility if you take it to auction. Probably to entice you to sign with them and they will just end up selling it for whatever price it reaches on the auction.

“Generic Chinese” how very dare you! 😜 There has been a tone of R&D put into this Intercooler for the N54 by CSF check out there website, and it wasn’t cheap, nor was it expensive. Seems like a good middle ground as the quality is brilliant. I managed to get it fit up eventually, the rubber seal was getting caught up which was causing the issue. Got it seated in the end.

I recently sold a house for a family member. some years earlier, for the purposes of reducing the rates bill, I had appealed the rating valuation and had it reduced by nearly 25%. This meant that when I came to sell the house the GV was well below the average for similar properties in the same street. When I engaged a real estate company to market the property they were not concerned by the GV and priced the house to the market at their assessment of what it should sell for. When an acceptable offer was received I had an independent valuation made and the offer was $2K more than the valuation. Pretty much proves to me that a genuine buyer will do their own due diligence and put in a realistic offer. People not prepared to do their homework and just reference the GV will likely end up with a lowball offer and miss out. In the end what you offer when buying anything comes down to how badly you want it Cheers...

Because you will likely end up selling for tens of thousands less. More so in a hot market. Your backyard amateur auction will not attract the same buyer pool and willingness to pay as a big brand marketed property. Private sellers kid themselves they saved. You see it time and time again, no private sales are 'high' in hindsight. People ask about CVs as they do provide some relativity, especially in areas where the properties are similar. Although they are meaningless, they can have an effect I reckon. If 3 identical houses all sold in your street, but your CV is lower for some reason, it will give people pause to pay more for yours, even if it is better. It will not effect a registered valuation, and it can be reviewed if you want. (Source: I made CVs)

I would think it could be worth a go - very basic, but end of the day its a simple piece. I bought this one from Speedfactor, essentially because it was dual adjustable (although that meant I installed it about 8 bloody times adjusting it haha). https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/3010812988?bof=LhaRnEJ1 I feel like its become sloppier really quickly though (2 months or less) but I didn't loctite the adjustment threads so will have a look and reinstall. I'm sure you are aware of the BM Speedshop NZ Made floor mounted ones that people seem to love but yeah, could be extremely notchy.

I'll rephrase that.... my generic Chinese intercooler bears some resemblance to your CSF intercooler which leads me to believe that they will have some dimensional similarities and install in much the same way Good to know you got it sorted. Cheers...

From my experience of supposed Real Estate agents in NZ when you ask them for a market value the first thing they ask you is “what’s the rv?”. Maybe I only approached poor agents..

Just saw this bad boy come up too, price is as high as I’ve seen for a 328i though. Would need a pretty impressive list of modifications and maintenance to list at $13k.

I'd seriously consider importing a 330i E46 manual from the UK if I wanted another one now. (lookout for corrosion though!). When I moved I didn't even get $2000 for it and I'd easily spent 12 on it in preventative maintenance. I didn't do my research before moving over on BMWs here or I'd have just shipped it over and profited even after costs!

I have an Android Headunit in the E46 (running wireless carplay ironically) but installed one of the Carplay / Android Auto devices that plug into the AMI port in our Audi A5 - I imagine they are very similar for BMW - just a box that plugs into the input and Canbus and uses the factory screen / controls etc. Its brilliant and a lot less work than changing out the whole screen (unless you want a bigger sharper touchscreen maybe)

Factory sports springs, I think all the 540is's in nz came with the sports package springs? "704 M Sport Suspension" I did a bunch of calling around for shocks in NZ to find options and there was nothing available.

I’m a fan boy of your car - it’s stunning. Personalised plates are just that - personal. Much better than fugly standard plates with a salad of letters an numerals.

You weren't meant to ask! But the answer includes many blades and bags. 😉 This... like 'buy my car with a brand new boot!'. 😁

Get your injectors from FCP euro. You'll have change from 2k NZD including shipping, they warranty them for life...and injectors are not a complex job to do at all (they can be coded easily with common software or using PROTOOL if you must $100 bucks). Buy the injector removal tool if your're doing it yourself...worth it 100%

As above, it's the RACP (rear-axle carrier panel) itself that has the issue, not the subframe. Take a read through this: https://cmpautoengineering.com/pages/part-1-will-my-e46-subframe-crack-how-will-i-know I'm personally running CMP's underfloor plates and topside beam kit on my E46 M3 Sedan build.

1957 BMW 507 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_507 The BMW 507 is a roadster that was produced by BMW from 1956 to 1959. Initially intended to be exported to the United States at a rate of thousands per year, it ended up being too expensive, resulting in a total production figure of 252 cars and heavy losses for BMW.
