Yep, was driving few days after I picked up my 130 years ago on a rainy day, driving the gentle curve of an offramp I almost lost control. Alignment was completely out of wack.

think it looks good on a lighter coloured car, but loses the nice contrast between a dark colour and the red

in my N55 engine, worn eccentric shaft and subsequently damaged valvetronic motor resulted in rough idle/running at low rpm but the bigger issue was it would randomly just die/turn engine off while driving. replaced the shaft and motor and it was fixed.. cost.... dont wana talk about it

You may need to replace the shaft itself

i think it was imported with structural damage, repaired, put on the road, then rego lapsed and reregistered? so two different issues

Nice, looks very good in msport with those 19" wheels. NZ new too! Those rear lights though? looks a bit white? aftermarket? The car (engine and gearbox) is perfectly suitable for what it is - the mid range for the 5 series and great for cruising and normal driving. Definitely no rocket but it isnt trying to be. you have the 535, 550 for that. It still goes great in sports mode and if you rev it out a bit more. The biggest plus of these F10's is the nice comfortable interior and seats. I think its a great buy especially with the prices they have dropped to. Definitely a waaaay better 5 series than the E60 ever was.

Went to see my ex.. It has come up for sale as the guy I sold it to traded it in for an Evo8. Was hoping to maybe buy it back if it was still in good condition but idles rough, engine rattling a bit and turbo/wastegate sounds a bit weird too. Just not the same as when I had it a year ago so had to walk away. A real shame really.. its come up for a good price $20990 which is a bargain for the spec.

could you like clean up the glue, lightly sand it and paint it? (both of them to match)

you should be able to just peel the fabric off and leave it as it is. it will be black and shouldnt have any glue residue.

sounds like 5 or 7 series fitment. does it have a big enough CB to suit E39?

yep, we bought an E91 325i wagon from a dealer a while back, freshly imported with only 50,000kms but suspension was buggered so did a whole overhaul on it to get it back to "normal". By contrast another same car we bought with 3x more kms was fine on its original suspension. so it all just depends on each individual example.

its the easiest way to sell a car for a premium though... "LOW MILEAGE EXAMPLE - LIKE NEW!" (So pay x2 it's value thanks!)
