I am going to take your advice and change the listing to represent the positives and actual spec. I'm going to take some better photos too. Thanks!

Looks a tidy car and priced about right. Personally, I'd remove the ACS exterior badges and not mention any of the ACS bits in the ad. Anyone who knows their bimmers will know it's not a genuine Schnitzer and those that don't won't care. Sell it for what it is, a tidy, relatively low kms 328i that has had regular maintenance. My 10 cents: take photos with a camera not a phone of the things that matter (exterior, engine and interior) and provide info of any service records... The more history the better for any potential buyer. GLWS EDIT: I recently sold this Merc A160 (a horrible little car) that I'd bought from a Turners auction for peanuts. The profit all but paid for my E30. I had some 15-20 actual enquiries (not Watchers) just by taking some good pics and providing an accurate description of the vehicle and being up front about the negatives.

My pedantic streak immediately went "but there is no such thing as S52 ITBs". Looks like a really cool build though , I hadn't seen it before. At the price though, I feel like you could make your own...

Seriously considered a E38 728i at one point. Really nice-looking, well-appointed cars, and the 728i is (relatively) economical. At 100km/h, what is the difference between it and a 750? (Other than the ability to disappear over the horizon!) At the time, the extra flexibility of the wagon meant we decided against and stuck with our venerable 320d Touring.

Haha it's funny hearing peoples opinions on this. Personally I hate the black plates

Wow... it's not looking as mint as when you had it. Always the way - very sad!

If the mod is illegal (such as tinting) won't matter if it had nothing to do with the accident. Not a grey area, just because it passes a WOF it doesn't certify or legalise it. Yes (and sorry - have been burnt myself so know how it works!)

My old car... And my photos from 18 months ago! It doesn't look like that now. I saw it a few months ago and both splitters were munched and LHS front bumper was cracked and wheels were a rash of curbing. And he's asking more than he paid for it!! EDIT: In fact, most of the text is from my original ad more than 18 months ago! This last time I saw it in March: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/23397-spotted-the-official-thread/?p=565031

yes. although one wonders why he did not QA the original job before it went out, and kick his worker up the arse and get it remedied before the job was "signed off" in the first place. still, good outcomes, and cheerfully remedied - excellent.

Keep the 740 and preserve it as your faithful servant. Take one facelift e38 with no prior relationship and begin your corruption.... S62 is cool for e38 number 5 and then it is time for e38 number 6 with screaming v10........

I was quietly impressed when I saw this at the last coffee and cars meet. There's not much more to say really and I don't want to get soppy but again, this is top shelf work.

Good old supply and demand, while supply on this puppy might be low, Im thinking that demand is in an even lower space. Rarity itself doesn't make it expensive Now if BMW made an M7 that might be a different story Still why would you only put 1 pic up ! Dumb

I dont think BMW have much of an opinion about this, the unit has worked far longer than the warranty period of the car so its hard to see why they would care...they are in it to make money after all. They did seem quite happy to sell me 2 new units

So, i can get a set of replacement gears for about $250US, or a replacement actuator for about $1500NZ new from BMW. Problem is replacing the gears only seems to fix about 75% of failed units, the rest die electrically, and there doesnt seem to be a reliable way to test the circuit outside of the car, so the replacement gears is a bit of a gamble. I think i will order 1 new actuator and a set of gears so i know i can get back on the road. On the plus side it looks fairly easy to get the units out so i have a good excuse to get elbows deep in my V10!!

We're getting off track a bit now anyway, I only alerted Amber because it's those kind of mods that insurance inspectors look for if a claim is made because it will immediately void the insurance, even if it has nothing to do with the accident. Much like un-certed hub spacers, cut springs, etc.

It's pretty clear on the NZTA website: https://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/get-your-lights-right/get-your-lights-right/#modify "Tinting It is illegal to apply any kind of tint film, tint paint or opaque sticker to any lamp which has a function other than decoration (eg non-cosmetic)."

Ah like the new F series cars? I do have 2 other project cars that I need to paint when completed, and I was going to paint the E46 a baby blue of sorts. Might look into this Estoril Blue business because a mate has F30 in this colour and it is one of the better blues I think

since getting my car road legal and stuff, all i've been doing is fixing little things like interior trim, tidying wiring and finding every excuse to take her out for a drive. The exhaust note is spot on at 100kph cruising and in 4th doing 50kph it's pretty quiet. The deep rumble is a sound i'll never get sick of. Its not as bad on gas as i thought it would be, doing pretty much the same milage as my m20 engine (although that motor was never running right). She'll bite if you're too aggressive but if you have quick hands and a firm touch she'll go wherever you want. one of the 1st things was to change the oil (2nd oil change from run in) and put some new (to me) tires. Thanks to Marcus and Richard these were done in a timely fashion A few days later i received a message from Jeff (Jeff e36 on here) asking if i could tag along with him to view an e30 he wanted as a daily. Not being one to turn down a chance to drive my e30 and view another, i asked him when i should pick him up. He bought it. P.s his e36 widebody build should be interesting :pimp: A friend of mine needed a ride home from a party we were at, I was more than happy to oblige. He lives near muriwai. Needless to say, i took the long way home Jeff was kind enough to come along, he has a fancy camera and manages to catch a lot of great shots to capture the reason we do the things we do. Our Car culture. You can follow him on FB or instagram Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JWphotoNZ Instagram: Instagram: @jw.photography.nz Had spotted a mini meet on the ECC page on facebook, and decided i needed a break from doing assignments. So, out we went again. (Pinched this photo from Nate Teo) A few friends and i went to see a movie (The Martian, good movie). So again. More than happy to. Snapped this photo, and this filter just seemed to work well. The following day we decided a nice short walk through the bush to a waterfall would be a nice way to finish the weekend. So off we went to Kitekite falls. When i 1st bought my e30 i got a cool pic of my wife (Girlfriend at the time) on the bonnet at this lookout near piha. December 14 2012 October 26 2015 now married We had an awesome picnic lunch and a great view. I was really hot after the walk and needed to wash my face. Roy (blusplatt on here) decided he wanted some more permanent memories So we headed back to the e30, jumped in and started our journey home when... The diff decided to call it quits on the uphill section 3mins drive up from piha. Nature of the beast i guess... Waited a few hours for a tow truck, and called Richard (e30spec on here) to pick up the others i had in my car. I decided to catch up on some sleep. And then the tow truck arrived. So now she's in the garage waiting for a new diff. I may just get a small case 4.1 or something to get me going and keep a locked medium case 3.46/3.64 for skid/track days. Hopefully through summer ill be updating more often and attending more track days! Stay tuned!

Though about going all fast and furious on a pizza delivery boy this evening (I was mad hungry); then realised I had no run-flats so came home and cooked chicken nuggets instead. Now with these, the possibilities are endless. That third question cracked me up.

It's probably upset about not being in M mode. Can you put some tape on the lights? Should only cover 1/3 of the windscreen.

Drained the cooling system yesterday, removed heater valve, disassembled, however all the seals looked good and there was hardly any sign of wear at all, which is just as well, the ebay repair kit I got wasn't the right one for my car. Re-assembled, topped up coolant, bled system, took the car for a big drive today, the fault has not re-occurred so far. I suspect it had an airlock in it, as that can cause issues with the heater valve apparently..

Success with Tony's today. Gave them a ring and they put me through to the Area Manager. He was horrified when I told him what had happened and assured me that one way or another they would put it right. Even at the expense of having the upholstery repaired. He was a good guy to talk to and I'm pretty sure someone in the Wanganui shop is going to get a well deserved kickin. I will be expecting another call early next week to work something out.

The measure of a tradey is how they respond to these problems. By owning the mistakes, remedying them, and going the extra mile (valet) shows they were genuine. Of course it should never have been done so poorly in the first place, but some tradies would have taken the money and told you to f**k off. I'm glad it worked out for you.
