My EK I built back home, with a DC5 Type R K20a motor and box. Went like a scalded cat. 250bhp and weighed around a ton. K20 swapped cars didn't really have a big price tag in Ireland 6 years or so ago. Ended up breaking it for parts instead of selling it. But if I had 3 wishes, 1 would be for a drive in it again. I daily'd this thing for a year by the way ?

I had a yellow Mazda RX4 Coupe for many years. 13B 5 Speed. It was a pretty tidy car. Saw it on TM a few years ago for $45k.

Some small upgrades installed: M Performance Spoiler And some RevShift billet aluminum rear trailing arms. Before and after pics. Helps to keep the rear planted under load.

Thought I’d make a thread where people can post up photos of their cars if they dont want to make a whole new thread dedicated to it.

The only car I've regretted selling - and it was because a) I wasn't finished with it, and b) I couldn't afford to take it with me: 1989 e30 325i Touring, manual, sunroof, Alpinweiss. In the UK. In 2001. I did a whole heap of remedial maintenance on it. Trips to Euro Car Parts for plugs, OEM HT lead set, all the filters (incl a K&N - silly boy), belts, oil change, hours spent under the hood with WD40 and rags cleaning it all up... changed out the 80's spec Blaupunkt cheapy for a decent colour-matched 1997-spec Pioneer CD unit from my previous car. Cooks Ferry Engineering were engaged to do fuel lines, shifter bushings, Pagid slotted rotors and fast-road pads, diff gearbox and cooling system flushes and refills, brake fluid, engine and gearbox mounts, tie rod ends and LCA bushes. I replaced all the wiper blades, adjusted the antenna and lubed the sunroof, tidied the body and interior... and I tracked-down an odd fault with fuel pump and DME relays (respectively). I planned suspension upgrades with Konis and springs I hadn't decided on, and was looking for decent rims (baskets). I did a few trips around the country in it, went to a BMW Driver's Club meet at Castle Coombe, and then it was time to pack up in UK and return to Niu Zild, as the contracting market had flatlined in UK... and pretty much everywhere else for that matter. Don't hate on those dugly wheels. They were next on the list for replacement! Image from the day I sold it. I'd love to have brought it home to NZ with me. I sold it for GBP2350, from memory. All the other cars were sold for a reason. Although it was difficult (at the time) to let go of my A2 Golf GTi 16v after 2.5 years and ~25000mi, looking back I have no regrets, and viewed logically bringing a left hand drive hot-hatch into NZ in the late 90's made no sense whatsoever.

This should now be solved. In the near future I am planning to move the website data to a new host, in theory it will be faster as a result of the change.

Revo's and Avus R's... We all know there's a set of VX-1's just out of shot. I can talk though, I had a set of Hockenheim R's on my first E30 ?

E60 M5 ? but it went to the right person who is taking fantastic care of it! ? And not one of mine, but a family member had a late 70’s Toyota Corolla SR Coupe in the middle of the 80’s - now that would be a cool ‘Rolla to have today!

Plenty of cars I flipped when I was younger that would be worth heaps now, Mk I and II Escorts, early Cortinas and the like. Would have required a lot of work to keep them going and/or restored. Of the cars I owned the 205 GTi Pug is the one I miss, fun car with lots of happy memories. Also all the tools I sold when I left the Uk to come to NZ, as “I won’t be working on cars anymore” Ha!

I have run stage 1+ for 4 years now and all you really need to do is upgrade the IC, which is as mentioned very easy and worthwhile. Plus you CP will likely blow so that needs to be done as well.
  28. 1 point
Intercooler is easy to upgrade and not to costly. 1+ is a big jump from stage 1.

One year down, service at BMW. Requires service every two years and it’s effectively three years by the look of it for a complete service anyway. Couple of new front tyres and alignment. wipers are a bit special and dealer only. Brake fluid change, coolant change, Rex fluid change, bla bla bla. $2000 later. Completed 11k kms this 12 months, power cost is around $250 so all up $2300 for 11ks and probably nothing but power for the next year, very happy with that. Put a carplay unit into the iDrive which is great as well, just a Chinese knock off module but it works great. Looking forward to another year now. Edit. Bought a new rear aerial $25, looking a bit shabby ?

I know of one here in chch, pfl 325 manual sedan. Supposedly immaculate but he's wanting 12kish

I ran it for 3 years with no issues, assuming it's a n54/n55? Be sure to upgrade the charge pipe and you'll be fine. Huge improvement over stock. Plugs and coils might be good preventative maintenance items to tick off too.

Love it! Still have a goal of building a K swapped dc2r with a rotrex supercharger. Maybe when the kid is grown up. . My first Honda was a H2B swapped DC2 with a half-cage. The confused looks I used to get driving it daily around town ?

Modified the lighting in the boost gauge using some leftover ashtray led lights, a bit ocd but it does look nicer when all the lights are the same orange...

The 90s definitely were peak for fun cars... wonder if In 20 years will be saying the same thing about 130s for 6k I sold my very tidy shiney and straight R32 Type M manual coupe for 6k in 2001.... Was curious as to what they are worth now... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/nissan/skyline/listing/2826175107?bof=XDmkazNd

Anything considered even a small case 3.45 (E36 Ti diff??). Will also consider an E36 diff to rob the crown and pinion from and if that's the case I will still need an E30 medium case diff (any ratio) to swap it in to. Cheers

I'm going to leave them as is, I quite like the blue. A guy in the UK did his in satin black with Brembo decals and they did look very good but I don't want to faff around.

Not tried XHPs version but do use MHD boost by gear which certainly helped my launches. Set 1st to 10psi and virtually eliminated the rear end breaking away just before it changed to second.

There's very few of those, my understanding is that white was special order ("individual") on the 3.2.
