Another one. Best value for money Bimmer's at the moment. I have had this for just over a year now. I purchased it sight unseen from @GorGasm on the forum. Knowing how well he looks after his cars it was an easy decision. Was in the US and needed a car when I got back. It has just clocked 108,000kms. It's all standard bar the replacement coil packs and some wheels (forgot the style). And that is the way it will mostly stay. It is our worry free commuter. I have a replacement stereo sitting in the US that I will bring over at some stage. Soon it will be doing daily duty over the Remutaka Hill and back most days. So tires, suspension, brakes will all be carefully maintained. But it really is a great car for the hill. I need to find a brake pad and rotor combo that is cost effective for hill duties. Suggestions welcome. I'm not heavy on the brakes but you do use them more than any normal commute. It does have quite a unique color combo though. It has Terracotta leather. Sadly it doesn't get washed much at the moment. Live on a farm up a gravel drive in the middle of nowhere on tank water. And it will soon be bug season. Anyway this is just a log of yet another E87.

I assume you're referring to the red one with 200,000 km + and the white RHD one have been sitting around for ages but there's a limit to this 'trick' haha. Taking shoddy photos of your M3 on the lawn and listing for $100k is never a winning combination for a quick sale. My point is if there's someone who really wants one and they have the cash, they'll be looking at the options in front of them even if they come at a premium. Disclaimer: I have a vested interest in seeing prices rise so I'm 100% biased.

But it's just another FWD hatch. There is plenty already.

The Wairarapa is far nicer than SH1. SH1 is now a half finished heavily patrolled highway. The Wind farm on the hill before you hit Palmy is a great look out point. And from the top of vinegar hill you can see Ruapehu and Taranaki on a clear day. Its about the scenery out this way. SH2 can provide some great views of the Tararuas (Mountain Range splitting East and West Coast). Snow on them at the moment. I always turn off at Turangi and take 31 then 42 through to Tokoroa. It's usually deserted and surrounded by pine forests. Also a dam to take a look at. Then turn off at Tirau and head through to Matamata.

Are these the new E30's? Bimmersport was once chock full of E30's. Now they all gather dust in sheds. I think a 130i meet could be a laugh.

I think I have pretty much nailed that panel, But now Ive pretty much realized that the owners before me have flared the rear guards and it's horrible. So back to the grind ?

BMW is the German Toyota, about time they got some FWDs. They're 35 years behind the competitors!

E30 M3 owners have been trying this trick for years, same cars still for sale though...

Update... Since the dash was off, asked Jon to look at heater issue (sometimes blows hot at the driver when set to cool - slightly frustrating!) - decided to replace the heater control valve Charcoal filter failed when installing the replacement fuel tank. Ordered both parts from Turner in the USA Parts arrived this week from Turner, dropped off and should be fitted soon... Nearly there! ?

Bought the 2.5 a while back for the wife, has been a stellar car, we have put 150,000km on it and only failure was the front control arm bushes and a plastic gear in the transfer case actuator. Buy the whole new actuator as a bosch or land rover item to save a fortune or just replace the gear. Reason we bought it vs a wagon was ground clearance and price for a 4wd version. Petrol consumption is sitting at 10.2L/100km

I used Chemical Guys all purpose cleaner to clean the surface. This was applied with a fresh micro fibre towel. I did this several times. I then used Maguires interior protection spray to bring back a bit the blackness and add some protection. this looked good but I wanted more black so used Solution Finish black trim restorer for a final coat.

Life is all about the little things. What did you use to get the "white ashy" stuff off the cubby? My centre console handle is looking a bit like that. I have 2 others here, one I painted black which turned out crap, the other two might be salvagable!

Ive gotta ask, but why would you buy that f**k ugly thing over an E91 wagon or the likes?

Do you have any plans for it other that just drive? Probably as $$$ permit look at getting the bonnet, front spoiler touched up for stone chips, also a groom is on the list then just enjoy the drive

You could do Paihiatua track instead of the saddle, which is pretty rooted & congested being the main link to theHB from Wellington and Manawatu. But yes going up through the Wairarapa& Vinegar Hill would be the go (or instead of Vinegar Hill go Kimbolton- Apiti Rd and come out at SH1 Mangaweka via Rangiwahia). Carry on from Vinegar Hill or Mangaweka up SH1 to Turangi. Turn off western access towards Whakamaru. Then back road to Kihikihi/Te Awamutu along Waipapa dam then across to SH39. That was my go to route when I used to live in Auckland and often go to Wellington in my motorbike. Except I’d do SH1 south of Turangi. Young and dumb on my gsxr1000 Highbrook Dr on ramp to Aotea Quay in just over 5 hours.

the workshops wont release any documents without prev owners permission so its easier for PO to contact them and ask for soft copy via email then he can forward to you.

Depends on what you are looking for I guess but I used to enjoy the Road through National Park rather than Desert Road, less trucks and long sweeping bends. Desert Road gets very twisty just before Turangi so I tried to avoid that bit when towing.

~25GB a day of traffic and 65GB of disk (it was 300GB before I compressed all the old pictures), so something that allows 1TB of traffic per month and 100GB of disk would be about right, that would cost ~$20usd a month with Amazon lightsail ($350nzd per year). Whilst the site is not as active as it once was, there is still quite a bit of traffic to it due to the historical content here and bimmersport ranking pretty highly in google searches.

Shipping was free. Was just charged the $245 USD. It has arrived, now I need to find time to install it.

Hi I am looking to build a 2.3 from a 2.0 m10 engine, I only have the m10 engine at this stage, I see I can get stroker kits from usa but thought I would see what parts are around locally. I considered a complete s14 engine but they are very hard to find and more expensive than a much higher hp m10 build.

I knocked a few hundred off since it's gone to a good home, probably the cheapest one in the country. Glad it'll still be on the forums receiving plenty of love ?

That will pull back my estimate a little, but not heaps, say $2k. But I think we've already established I'm a rubbish valuer. ?
